A celebration of life is planned for Dr. Frances Bartlett Kinne on August 21st. Below is the schedule of events for that day. You are invited to join us for any or all of the activities.
9:15 a.m. Visit Fran’s gravesite at Story City Cemetery
10:00–10:45 am Celebration of life service to be held at St. Petri Lutheran Church
10:45–11:30 am Sandwich luncheon in the church basement
11:30–12:15 pm Tour Bartlett & Carriage House Museums (Kate Feil Director)
12:15–12:45 pm Tour and enjoy a ride on the historic 1913 Carousel
12:45–1:15 pm Tour the Historic Story City Grand Opera House/Theater (Todd Thorson – Owner)
1:15–2:15 pm Tour the Bertha Bartlett Public Library, enjoy selections played on Fran’s Piano, and share memories of Fran (Kolleen Taylor Library Director)
These locations represent the uniqueness of Story City that Dr. Kinne cherished. She often spoke of these places in her stories with friends and strangers alike, and many featured locations have been touched with her generosity.
